Comet 4c - Texture Baking - Seats

Final work on the seats involved more than light and shadow effects. They now have a fuller, more rounded appearance, especially the front third of the seat cushion. Piping around the cushion and squab give a much more realistic appearance. If only X-Plane had smell-o-vision, you would also enjoy the smell of the real thing, a heady cocktail of leather and lubricants, like a vintage Bentley ...

(Above) View from the forward galley towards the nose. The strange ears on the back of the seats are arm rests.

(Above) View towards the pilot’s panel, with lighting off.

(Above) Daylight view, with lighting on, and at maximum brightness. The lighting emphasises the backs of the seats, which now have a more three-dimensional shape, with a distinct waist where the real seats have a broad horizontal frame. As well as piping, I’ve added seam lines and zip fasteners. I also refined some of the panel lighting levels before these screen shots.

This brings everything from the pilots’ seats forwards to finished standard. Next: the flight engineer’s station.
